SAINT PAUL, Minn. — September 25, 2019 — Next Avenue, public media’s digital publication dedicated to covering issues for people 50 and older, has released its fifth annual list of Influencers in Aging, which includes 12 advocates, researchers, thought leaders and innovators who are breaking ground and changing how we age and think about aging. People are honored from each of the six areas that Next Avenue covers: Health, Caregiving, Money and Policy, Work and Purpose, Living and Technology.
This year’s list includes Calif. Governor Gavin Newsom, who is creating a Master Plan for Aging for his state; Dr. Louise Aronson, the Elderhood author helping optimize health care and improve outcomes for older adults and Imani Woody, who is developing a home for older LGBTQ adults in Washington, D.C.
